Who owns the data you uploaded to the cloud platform
DataStories claims no intellectual property rights over data submitted by you and will not sell it or share it with other parties. The DataStories Cloud is hosted on Amazon AWS and the servers are located in Ireland. DataStories will never copy or move the data and results that are stored in the cloud platform outside the European Union. The dataset that is uploaded by you and the results generated are only accessible by you, unless you decide to share them with the sharing functionality.
Privacy of your data
Your privacy is important for us. On the DataStories Platform your data is safe. We care about your privacy.
To make predictions with the DataStories platform in the cloud, you need to upload a data set. We do understand your concerns about the privacy of your data. In case your data is personally identifiable, we recommend to use anonymization or psyeudonimization of data columns.
For optimisation and improvements goals, it's important for us to know if our customers submit large or small data sets, whether they solve regression or classification problems. That’s why we track the following information:
- The size of the data set
- The number of columns and rows in the data set
- The data classes (
NUM
,CAT
,TXT
,CONST
) - The number of unique values in a column.
In case you share your data file with us for debugging purposes, we delete your data at once after resolving the issue. We appreciate your collaboration!
Data Ownership
DataStories International nv claims no intellectual property rights over data submitted by Users and will not process it or share it with other parties. The dataset that is uploaded by a User and the results generated by the DataStories Platform are only accessible by that User, unless the User decides to share them using the sharing functionality. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account and password. DataStories may only retrieve a dataset which caused technical issues in an anonymised version for debugging purposes (unless otherwise agreed with the customer). All uploaded data will be deleted upon termination of their account by Users.

What format of data is usable within the platform?
The DataStories platform works with structured tabular data. The maximum file size allowed on the cloud platform is currently 40 MB. Our platform deals with the following file types: Excel, .CSV and .TXT. When you are using an excel file the data must be placed in the first sheet of your file. We require a minimum of 20 rows of data.
Help, I am not allowed to use the cloud
Our Platform is also available as a standalone installation on your local workstation it is available starting from the Pro version of the Platform.
